- Costumes: dark, gothic, but well designed
- Mysterious settings: abandonel - "putrifying elegant"
- Storm outside: sounds, it adds mystery and drama
- Body language: Morpheus expressions, he is confident while Neo is confused
- Framing of armchair: its shadow
- Colour: filtered to give impression
